This is an Owners representative role and you should have a good understanding of construction planning into field execution, contractor performance and apply your leadership skills in safe construction. You will be required to spend 50% - 75% of your time in the field managing the project.
The project is a SAG mill which would be similar to a ball mill building with conveyors, slurry management, infrastructure/utilities, etc. Same basic disciplines and weighting would apply. We have another scope coming which is a floatation plant which will be a little heavier in piping, process, E&I but in reality – the differences between everything is minor in the grand scheme of things. Any heavy civil construction with a large component of mechanical/process/piping/E&I would apply.
The candidate does not need to be an expert in a particular discipline but experience and capacity to effectively observe/monitor/question work in the field across multiple disciplines. Be able to review construction planning and understand opportunities for improvement or risks of roadblocks across multiple disciplines.
The candidate needs to understand the contract from a field execution perspective, contractor office support, material management, quality management.
The candidate needs to have and understand remote work, camp living in developing countries, seeing a project through from start to finish.
In those things above, the experience of and leadership qualities of the candidate would be expected to move the project forward safely with secondary goals of quality, schedule and cost.
It rains 30 mm every day at site and construction is at 9400 - 9800 ft. Work will cover 2 shifts so some rotating shift work will be expected. Rotation is 8 weeks by 3 weeks.
