ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the International Freight Forwarding Sea Import Operations Assistant Manager is to supervise and contribute to the work performed by the team of IFF Sea Import Operators that coordinates and organizes the domestic and international transportation of goods.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Manage the team, disseminate information upwards and downwards (support and back-up). Check the quality of the team’s work, ability to meet deadlines, productivity, and transfer the knowledge required to perform the work
- Assess and identify training needs, opportunities and requests for promotion and remuneration requirements for their staff, and forward them to their line management
- Integrate and train new staff in their team, especially during changes in processes, or in the organizational structures, etc
- Monitor the proper execution and the correct use of the resources required to perform the activities based on Performance Tool
- Analyze reports coming from Customer Operations Support and International Freight Forwarding Operators
- Review the Customer SOP during the implementation stage (A & B customers)
- Set up client contract/ commitment review meetings on a regular basis and provide feedback to the line management
- Maintain communication with Consignee, Carriers, Suppliers, Field Operations, Network, and other Bollore Dept. to secure correct documents and information flow.
- Analyzing and provide root cause analysis on service deviation, propose corrective and preventive action and monitor proper implementation
- Responsible for the data Quality of the team
- Monitoring OC KPI performance and report to line management & Risk Control Team
- Check and follow up for Overpayment to Shipping Line
- Check TSL Inward Manifest draft
- Work closely with the Network/Procurement/Suppliers(Carriers, Co-loaders, Trucking companies), to ensure the best services rendered at the most competitive rates.
- Constantly updated on Customs/Government’s regulations and policies, in order to avoid any conflict during Operations.
- Manage Our Import Consolidation Services through 3rd Party Vendor.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree from any major or relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an International Logistics/Freight Forwarding Company and in a fast paced and dynamic multi-cultural multi-national company environment.
- Supply Chain, Logistics, International freight forwarding, Customs clearance business process understanding
- Logical thinking & Strong analytical Skill
- Excellent oral, written English
- Good Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Numeracy & Statistics Skills
